Only four games on the docket tonight, so there isn’t a whole lot to choose from for tonight’s Game of the Night. While a majority of the games don’t seem that interesting – to the general fan at least – we are, however, #blessed with a very nice match-up between the Golden State Warriors and New Orleans Pelicans.
When they travel down to New Orleans this evening, the Warriors will be looking for their first win in over a week. It hasn’t been a fun stretch for the boys from Golden State, as their currently on a three game losing streak and have been hit hard by injuries. Steph Curry missed multiple games with a concussion, and though he has since returned, the team is now without Andre Iguodala for the foreseeable future, following his hamstring injury. Tonight, Andrew Bogut is also out, but for a different reason; he is serving a one game suspension for his role in the team’s “fight” with the Portland Trail Blazers over the weekend.
The Pelicans, meanwhile, are hoping to bounce back from last night’s loss to the San Antonio Spurs. The loss in San Antonio dropped the team to 6-7, and back under .500. After starting out 3-6, the team had fought back – bolstered by the return of Ryan Anderson – to .500 before tripping up last night.
The Pick: Missing Andre Iguodala is a tough loss for the Warriors, but with their strength at the wing, they should be able to push through it. Losing Bogut for tonight will be much more difficult to handle. Anthony Davis will certainly be excited not to have to deal with the big Australian. I think a huge game from Davis will overcome whatever magic Steph Curry can conjure up. Pelicans win at home 106-101.
