Manu Ginobili is quickly taking over the “Pass of the Night” feature here at Saving the Skyhook. With his latest feed last night, he’s now taken the honors three times in four days.
First there was his wraparound feed to Boris Diaw, then there was his long distance bounce pass to Marco Belinelli, and now it was another perfect bounce, this time to Cory Joseph.
Last night was just too easy for the Spurs, as they demolished the Cavaliers by a score of 126-96. At one point early in the 3rd quarter, they held a 43 point lead. With yet another win, the Spurs move their current streak to 10 games in a row and are now 12-1 on the season. Every year people keep waiting for Duncan and company to finally fall off, but every year they’re right there at the top of the Western Conference.
The blowout victory allowed coach Gregg Popovich to rest his key players, with Danny Green being the only starter to play over 20 minutes – and he only played 21. Manu Ginobili also only played 15 minutes.
But even in limited minutes, Ginobili was able to produce yet another moment of magic. In the middle of the 3rd quarter, Ginobili took a pass from Cory Joseph, and turned it into a give-and-go. After giving the ball to Ginobili, Joseph made a straight cut to the basket. It looked like he was well covered, but Ginobili led him with a perfect bounce pass through traffic that Joseph finished with a layup.
