Marc Gasol Out Indefinitely With MCL Sprain

On Friday night, the Memphis Grizzlies suffered a 102-86 loss to the San Antonio Spurs. After their defeat, however, the Grizzlies had bigger issues to deal with. In the second quarter, star center Marc Gasol suffered an apparent knee injury and exited the game.

After undergoing an MRI on Saturday, it was determined that the reigning Defensive Player of the Year had endured a Grade 2 MCL sprain.

The timetable for his return is unknown, but it seems that the average recovery time from this kind of injury takes six to eight weeks.

The 28-year-old is the foundation of the Grizzlies. He is currently averaging 16 points and 7.1 rebounds, leading his team to a 7-6 record.
