Pass of the Night: Randy Foye to JaVale McGee (Video)

After losing their GM, Head Coach and star player this summer, no one really knew what to expect from the Denver Nuggets this season. Obviously no one expected them to match their output from last year, but there were differing opinions on whether or not the team could get back to the playoffs.

Of course, it’s still very early, but things aren’t looking too good up in Denver. Last night when they took on the Atlanta Hawks, the Nuggets were looking for their first win of the season. With Ty Lawson leading the way, and the help of 49 bench points, they left the ranks of the winless with a 109-107 win. Also chipping in were Randy Foye (13 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists) and JaVale McGee (14 points, 3 rebounds). While their lines weren’t spectacular, they combined for a spectacular play that was good enough to earn the Pass of the Night.

In the middle of the 2nd quarter, Foye was controlling the ball on the left wing, waiting for McGee to get down the court. After Foye motioned multiple times for him to get across mid-court and join the play, McGee finally arrives and starts to come over to Foye to set a screen. Or so it appeared. Without every coming close to being set, McGee instead cuts down the lane, while Foye takes a few dribbles to his left. Foye then lofts a pass high in the air to the cutting McGee, who soars above everyone to throw down the one-handed dunk.
