ICYMI: Suggested Basketball Reading From Across the Web

Only four games took place last night, but we still had plenty of entertainment as the Cleveland Cavaliers held off a late charge from the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Los Angeles Clippers blew out the Houston Rockets in a good old fashioned West Coast shootout. But if you were upset, about last night (maybe because your team lost, or your burrito order was messed up) you should change your face because there are plenty more games tonight. Plus, we’re here again with some words for you to read in today’s suggested basketball reading from across the web.

A Night With Future, Z-Bo, Tony Allen and the Memphis Grizzlies: By Rembert Browne (@rembert

It’s hard to find someone who doesn’t like the Memphis Grizzlies. (How can you dislike a team with Tony Allen, Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph?) But if you somehow find someone who doesn’t like this team, simply have them read Rembert Browne’s story about his night at the team’s home opener. At Zach Randolph’s request, THE TEAM HAD FUTURE PERFORM AT THE GAME. And that’s all you really need to know about the Grizz.

The Fallacy of Small Sample Size: By Andrew Lynch (@AndrewLynch

With teams only having played 3 or 4 games to this point, you hear a lot about #SmallSampleSizeTheater. We are warned not to make predictions based on such small data sets. And while this is true, as Andrew Lynch of Hardwoon Paroxysm writes, he also doesn’t want us to just completely ignore what has happened so far this season.
