If you aren’t familiar with the SportVU camera technology that the NBA is installing in all NBA arenas, you should read up on them. Zach Lowe has written previously about them and they are pretty fascinating. While a few teams already had the cameras, they will now be in every arena, which will have a huge impact on the league. Over at Grantland, Lowe goes through the multiple effects this move will have on the game, and how we understand it.
By now, everyone is aware of the troubles that Lamar Odom is going through. Over at ESPN Los Angeles, Dave McMenamin wrote a moving piece about the struggles that Odom has had to deal with in his life. McMenamin talked to a number of Odom’s former colleagues to learn more about Odom and how he impacted the lives of everyone around him.
