LeBron James is already the NBA’s biggest superstar, and now the four-time MVP will take a step into TV production. James is one of the executive producers on “Survivor’s Remorse,” a new show he is creating with Starz.

The series focuses on two cousins who come from an impoverished neighborhood and become famous. One of them is an NBA star, and the two men have to find ways to deal with their friends and family closest to them with all of their fortune.

The scripted comedy takes place in Philadelphia, instead of Akron, Ohio, where James is from.

The show is based in North Philadelphia instead of Akron, Ohio. “More people can relate to it,” said Maverick Carter, James’ longtime friend and business partner.

While it does not take place in Akron, the show still certainly hits close to home for James.

“I think the main thing for me is, first of all, making it out of a place where you’re not supposed to. You’re supposed to be a statistic and end up like the rest of the people in the inner city — (and) being one of the few to make it out and everyone looking at you to be the savior,” the Miami Heat star said.

Other than James, decorated produced Tom Werner is also on board. He has worked on shows such as Rosanne, The Cosby Show and more.

This will not be the two-time NBA champions first venture into the world of television. In 2011, he produced an animated internet series called “The LeBrons” and in 2008, starred in a documentary called “More Than A Game.”
