This post from Curtis Harris’ Pro Hoops History Hall of Fame is actually a few months old, but it was Robert Parish’s birthday yesterday, so it’s relevant. Harris detail’s the 21 year, Hall of Fame career of the former Warrior, Celtic, Hornet, and Bull. Parish was a 4 time champion, 9 time All-Star, and had his number retired by the Celtics. Happy Birthday to the Chief.
Despite writing an enormous book about the NBA, Bill Simmons hasn’t written much about basketball recently. But he’s back and as good as ever in this excellent column about the career of Tracy McGrady. Simmons talked to Kobe Bryant, Jeff Van Gundy, Daryl Morey, and even Doc Rivers to try and understand McGrady, the player. Simmons reminds us that McGrady was a great, great player and that his lack of playoff success (which often wasn’t his fault) shouldn’t take away from how we remember him.
