Take: Iguodala’s always been known as a pass-first player, but he’s taken that aspect of his game to a new level since Doug Collins took over as 76ers coach.  His assist rate was higher last season, but is still currently far above his career average.

Philly point guard Jrue Holiday isn’t exactly Steve Nash when it comes to distributing, so Iggy’s court sense is of special worth to the 76ers, who lead the league in assist ratio.  Iguodala gets tons of credit for spearheading the Sixers’ opportunistic defense, but not nearly enough for the effect he has on Philadelphia’s underrated offensive attack.

Keeping both those things in mind, Iguodala’s first All-Star selection this season is more than warranted.  That he’s not considered among the league’s top two-way wingmen is a thought that needs revisiting.
