NBA Game Rankings: 11/30/10

So the Heat finally showed us a little fire last night against the Wizards, but unfortunately it was just some guys pushing each other around after Joel Anthony got an extended arm push from Hilton Armstrong. They did look better last night though. However, it was still the Wizards, and they were simply doing what they were suppose to be doing…..beating a bad team. Continue Reading

In case you haven’t noticed, the Indiana Pacers are a pretty good basketball team. And they made an emphatic statement last night in Los Angeles, as they knocked off the defending champion Lakers. They took control in the final minutes of the game, which is something the Lakers usually do, and that is just a huge win for this Indiana squad that is really starting to make the progress that Pacer fans have been wanting to see. Site5 and FanSided Holiday Season Charity Drive

NBA fans, we’re gonna take a break from the hoops action for a few minutes to talk about a really great effort put together by our network. Site5 (the network’s hosting company) and FanSided are co-sponsoring the Boys and Girls Club of America this holiday season, and we want to spread the word so that those who would like to donate can have the opportunity to do so.

The goal is to raise $5,000 (but let’s push pass that goal) for the Boys and Girls Club of America, which will certainly go to a great cause and will help boys and girls around the nation improve their lives.

Here’s the club’s mission statement:

To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

Core Beliefs

A Boys & Girls Club Provides:

A safe place to learn and grow…

Ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals…

Life-enhancing programs and character development experiences…

Hope and opportunity.

This really is a fantastic cause and if you would like to be involved in this outstanding project, just click here to donate.

Again, a huge thanks to Site5 for all the hard work they’ve put into this effort. And of course, thank you for helping such a great cause!

In what is starting to become a trend, the Miami Heat lost again last night, as the Mavericks were simply too much for them to handle in Dallas. That moves the Heat to 9-8 on the year, and for those of you who are still keeping count, Erik Spoelstra‘s squad will need to go 63-2 from here on out to break the ’95-96 Bulls’ win record. Last night was one of the better nights of the NBA season thus far, with a lot of close games taking place throughout the Association. The Spurs had their 12 game winning streak stopped by the Mavericks, the Jazz once again came from behind to knock off the defending champions, Carmelo Anthony hit a game-winner to beat the Bulls, and Russell Westbrook scored 43 to lead the Thunder over the Pacers in OT. Whew. It was an action-packed, to say the least. Continue Reading

Neither of the games on Thanksgiving were all that impressive, although it is important to note that the Los Angeles Clippers are on a two-game winning streak. I’m not sure if that means the Lakers should start shaking in their sneakers, but hey, at least it means the Clippers are improving. Continue Reading

After a few quarters of last night’s games, there were some scores that really caught me off-guard. Minnesota was up big on San Antonio and the Suns were drilling the Bulls. However, we should have known what would eventually happen, as both the Spurs and Bulls came back to win. Continue Reading

Will the Kings Trade for a Point Guard?

Before the season started, I honestly believed that the Sacramento Kings could make a push to get the final playoff spot in the West. Perhaps it was optimism for the new frontcourt that they created in the off-season by drafting DeMarcus Cousins and bringing in Samuel Dalembert. Perhaps it was the expectation of Tyreke Evans completely dominating defenses in his second year in the league. Continue Reading

The Lakers won the showdown in Los Angeles last night against the Bulls, and just don’t look like they can be beat right now. The other games went as expected, with no real shockers one way or the other. However, tonight’s schedule should bring us a ton of entertainment and suspense as there are plenty of great games on the slate. Continue Reading
